  After nearly 20 years of debilitating neurological symptoms, and severe trauma regarding drug accusations in the early stages of my symptoms, I had travelled 3 hours to consult with Dr Cheney. I always made my medical appointments early, as despite me struggling to balance to sit early in the morning, I struggled even worse with getting to appointments later in the day, and with trying to sit in waiting room chairs later in the day. I was sitting in the waiting room struggling with my neurological symptoms and feeling terrified. My boyfriend was trying to comfort me, as he was aware of the terror that my symptoms caused me. Then, from behind the reception desk, this old grey haired lady whom I've never seen there any other time calls out "it's a bit early isn't", implying that my symptoms were caused by alcohol. I had spend over $30,000 in the years prior to consulting Dr Cheney, on trying to find the cause of my symptoms. My symptoms were totally unrelated to alcohol or to any drug, and I had already sustained severe trauma in the past from being accused of being effected by substances, which made attempting things even more frightening as I was frequently scared that if I did fall then people would just think that I was just drunk or on drugs. I had spent well over 90% of my life in bed for well over a decade prior to consulting Dr Cheney, due to the severity of my symptoms. The trauma that I sustained from this unwelcome and disrespectful comment from this old grey haired employee still has me in tears regularly. If people hadn't of accused my symptoms of being drug and alcohol related when my symptoms originated, then I believe that I would not have deteriorated to the point that I did, if people had of put the same effort into finding the cause of my symptoms, as what they did trying to pass the symptoms off as being related to substance issues, as within less than a couple of years of the initial drug accusations I was barely able to walk to the end of my hallway or stand to shower. I do not believe that this type of bullying should be allowed by employees at doctors surgeries.

  My experience with the receptionist Lorelle still has me severely upset. I asked Lorelle about getting a copy of a form which Dr Cheney had advised me about. She repeatedly accused me of claiming that Dr Cheney had written it and that I was claiming that he was dishonest. I kept repeating "that's not what I said". Then she repeatedly accused me of asking her to go into my medical notes to get the form as I again repeatedly said "that's not what I said". Then the next morning I rang again as my call wasn't returned and Lorelle hadn't taken the message. I was informed by another staff member that Lorelle had then told them that I'd asked her to go into the notes and get it, despite me being in tears and telling Lorelle that "that's not what I said". If Lorelle could have taken a message when she was asked then I would be living an entirely different life today, but instead I'm still suffering as a result of people not being able to take messages.

  Absolutely disgusted by the treatment that I received. Dr Cheney informed me that my daughter hated me, that I had a bad reputation and should move to Dubbo, and that I hang out with a bad crowd, all of which is utter nonsense. Then Dr Cheney claimed to have obtained this view of my from a form in my medical notes. Now he denies that this form exists, claiming "there is no such thing to which you allude" after he told me to my face that he read it on a form.

  Dr Cheney caused to become very sick after he accused me of hanging out with a bad crowd and telling me that my daughter hated me. He also told me that I should move to Dubbo because of my bad reputation. I immediately wrote to him telling that they these ideas he had about me were lies, as did my daughter and entire family, declaring that my daughter didn't hate me. He then told me that he'd read these degrading ideas that he had obtained about me on a form. His receptionist Lorelle then started accusing me of things when I requested a copy of this form that said these nasty lies about me. Dr Cheney then dumped me as a patient for being distressed about his allegations and requesting to know the source of his ideas about me. The experience still has be crying daily and unable to sleep and eat years later. Consulting with Dr Cheney turned out to be an extremely traumatic experience.
